Wage satisfaction low among managing directors and chief executives

Highest salary for managing directors and chief executives with 30 years of experience: R42 316 to R121 019 per month

Based on our survey, workers with 30 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between R42 316 and R121 019 per month. 25 years of experience earns employees a monthly salary between R44 443 and R112 362.

Managing directors and chief executives mostly male

Based on the survey results, most workers in this occupation are male. 28% of people in this job state that they do not have any children. Employees who answered the survey are mostly between 40 and 49 years of age.

Coverage by collective bargaining amongst workers in this occupation is 1%, while 99% are not covered by a collective agreement, according to our survey. Employees work 41 hours per week on average.

Majority organisations employ 500 or more workers

Workers who do not have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, added up to 14% of respondents. Since starting their first job, 35% of workers in this occupation have worked 10-20 years. 45% of all participating employees work in a multinational organisation. For most workers, the majority of their coworkers are male.
