5 years of work experience reaps statistical, finance and insurance clerks a salary ranging from R11 960 to R22 977 per month. Among the employees who share information on their wages and working conditions, most are female. This is the conclusion of research carried out by Mywage.co.za, in 2023.
Workers with 20 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between R15 625 and R30 024 per month. Veteran employees with 30 years worth of experience can earn an hourly wage between R74 and R140 per hour.
80% of the respondents are female, 20% are male. Employees who answered the survey are mostly between 24 and 29 years of age. 32% of workers state that they do not have any children.
Average working week of 40 hours
Coverage by collective bargaining amongst employees is 1%, while 99% are not covered by a collective agreement, according to our survey. Workers in this occupation work 40 hours per week on average.
Coworkers mostly female
40% of all participating workers in this occupation work in a multinational organisation. 41% of employees have worked fewer than 5 years since their first job. For most workers, the majority of their coworkers are female. Employees who have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, add up to 89%. Employees mostly work in organisations consisting of 500 or more people. 11% of employees state that they have no permanent contract for their job.
In the survey, 12% of the people in this job choose 'highly satisfied' as their job satisfaction level. In general, most workers in this occupation are in between satisfied and dissatisfied with their position. This is the case for 31% of the workers in this occupation.
Wage dissatisfaction high among statistical, finance and insurance clerks
Of all surveyed employees, 27% feel highly dissatisfied about their salary. Generally, 51% of the people in this job report they are dissatisfied with their salary.
