Majority stationary plant and machine operators covered by collective agreement

19 Sept 2023 - Stationary plant and machine operators who have 20 years of experience in their job, will earn between R10 350 and R37 520 per month. Most workers are male, based on the survey results. This is made clear in research by Mywage.co.za, conducted in 2023.

Employees with 30 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between R8 616 and R61 132 per month. Per hour, employees with 20 years of experience earn between R53 and R193.

88% says they are male, while 12% entered female as their gender. Workers who answered the survey are mostly between 30 and 39 years of age. 83% of people in this job have 1 child or more.

People in this job work 41 hours per week on average.

Coworkers mostly male

Workers in this occupation mostly work in organisations consisting of 500 or more people. 90% of employees state that they have a permanent contract for the work that they are doing. 40% of people in this job have worked fewer than 5 years since their first job. Of the participating workers in this occupation, 40% work in a multinational organisation. 10% of people in this job state that they have no permanent contract for their job. For most people in this job, the majority of their coworkers are male.
