Workers with 25 years of work experience earn the highest salary: between R32 263 and R81 590 per month. Employees earn between R87 and R207 per hour at the start of the career, having 1 year of work experience.
Construction supervisors mostly male
Most employees are male, based on the survey results. 55% of employees state that they do not have any children. Employees who answered the survey are mostly between 24 and 29 years of age.
Average working week of 41 hours
Employees work 41 hours per week on average. Coverage by collective bargaining amongst workers in this occupation is 1%, while 99% are not covered by a collective agreement, according to our survey.
38% of construction supervisors fewer than 5 years of work experience
Workers in this occupation who do not have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, added up to 18% of respondents. Since starting their first job, 38% of people in this job have worked fewer than 5 years. In most cases, people in this job report that the majority of their coworkers are male. Of the participating employees, 51% work in a multinational organisation. Employees who have a permanent contract for the work they are performing, add up to 82%.
